The seasons were changing. The winter chill had begun to move out along the rest of the country, leaving a layer of cold smog hanging over the town of Gomorrah. The fact of the matter though, was that Spring was here, even if it only showed a few signs of its presence. To the residents of Reno, the change was quite apparent. Scoundrels, traders and wanderers alike began to show there face around the trading post town more than they had in the passed few months. There were enough threats out in the vast, empty plains without the threat of winter's torment. So when the icy months began their reign, there was a definable lack of people out and about.
One good thing about the decrease in people 'round these parts, was the decrease in raids. A fact that Lili Brunhart was all too glad to welcome. Though, this also meant no brave rescue from her mysterious stranger. The thought of him crossed her mind often, namely today. The young blonde had started work at the saloon behind the bar this day and had found her mind drifting in and out of her frequent daydream. "Hey there Eli." "Mornin, Eli." "Hope all is well, Eli." Only the mention of her name seemed to catch her attention this day, and even then she answered quietly and short.
The screams and gunshots had begun to echo off in the distance as Lili outstretched a cool drink to a nearby man. That was enough to finally snap Lili out of her state. "Not again." Her whisper was inaudible as the raiders crashed through the door of the saloon, wicked smiles emblazoned across their dirty mugs. Lili made quick work of reaching for the pistol attached at her hip, but simply held it below the counter. One, two, three, four. There were four here and most likely more outside. "It's Spriiiingtime in Gomorrah! Ain't that right fella's?" Judging by the size of the cocky grin on the frontman's face, he must have been the leader. His eyes connected with hers as he scanned the room, "And ladies."
The young woman's eyes shut. Why didn't I hide? Why didn't I hide...
